Default Hello from Ontario, Canada

Hi there, I am new to this forum, don't even own a V Star yet but hopefully going to have one soon. Sold my Kawasaki Vulcan 500 and am looking to upsize. have looked and test ridden the 950 but also will try to test the 1100 V Star at the next Yamaha demo day coming up next month. I am 5"4 140 lbs and felt very comfortable on the 950 but still don't want to rush into buying before I try the 1100. My main reason for upsizing is that I want to do some more long distance travelling. My little Vulcan took me to Nova Scotia this year without any problems but I would like a bigger engine for long hauls, lol. Found this forum very helpful so far....

Welcome to the forum from MN. I'm very familar with Mississauga because I worked for a software company there for 12 years.

The 950 is a great bike and will serve you well for your stated uses. Check out the 1100 though, you'll be surprised to find that the 1100 is a physically smaller and lighter bike than the 950.

Good luck with finding your new ride.

Welcome to the forum. I've had a 2001 1100 Classic for 3 years now and I love it. All the power you'll need and then some. I'm in the Oakvile area. There's a new Yamaha dealer at 3rd line and Speers. They're having a demo day in September. Check it out and Good luck.

Welcome. I lived in collingwood/wasaga beach for years so I know where your at. I have an 1100 and couldn't be more pleased with it. Either way both are great bikes.

Default Hello from South of the border

Hello from south of the border! Six miles south of Kingston. I am happy with my 1100, just drive around Lake Ontario. No problems with the bike.

Hated rush hour traffic in Toronto and loved taking the Loyalist Parkway in Prince Edward county from Trenton, Picton to Kingston.
