From what I've been told it's a lot better to do a mid-week ride. Less people out trying to set land speed records :-)

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier about not making it up, I was trying to figure out a date to make it down to the Dragon between my retirement and starting my new job. I'm hoping around September 14th or so unless something comes up. Might you be able to meet there?

Thanks, at my retirement I told a story about being a dinosaur since I don't like all the changes the Navy is going through. It's time to go home. I'll still be around the Navy though, I go a job with a civilian contractor.

He's doing OK...I hope. Can't get a hold of him this evening but he may be out at sea getting training for his upcoming deployment. His AAV unit is training with the USN ship they will be working on. He did call about five days ago and was doing well.

Thanks Semper Fi Dawg. I just got home this afternoon from the "Raider Rally" in Asheville, NC. I had no idea my bike was in the running.

We (my girlfriend and I) had a blast down there riding the Blue Ridge Parkway south from Asheville one day, north the next to Grandfather Mountain (awesome place!) then on the third day, we went over to TN and rode the "Dragon's Tail"...318 turns in 11 miles. Good times!!!

I think we had something like 30 Raiders show up to the Rally, 50+ people, one couple came from England after shipping their two Raiders over to GA.
