Today, while reading the new posts, I clicked on the new post and was notified by this website that I could not view any posts, post any new posts etc. This problem is a continuation of a previous similar problem I have had in posting on this forum. Since I have changed internet security programs in the interim between the last posting problem and this most recent occurrance, I can only assume it originates from the website. Please investigate and correct if possible.

I have also had many problems. some I still have. if I log out it wont let me back in. it tells me that I have to register. so I do and it tells me that I have an account, but it still wont let me in, I have to manipulate my way in by going to my email and clicking on the link in my mail that tells me I have a message or response to a post. and once I get in then I have to hit refresh every time I go to a new page. it tells me I have a new private message, so I click on private messages and there is nothing. hit refresh and you might get it. I was told that it most likely was my browser. so I updated to IE7 and no help same shit. I did purchase more security so maybe that's the problem. it just happened to be the same time this site was getting some repair or updates, so I thought it was the site that had problems. it still sucks I have found was to work around most of the problems but it still not the same as it was. and I still have to refresh every page.

Cole that is wild. I use FireFox as a browser, that smoothed out my internet connections considerably. What security software did you install?
That said Maniac is having the site proffessionally redone so hopefully that will alleviate the problem. Bare with us.

I've never had any issue with the site. I dont use any security software on my PC. Just what comes with windows. And I have a firewall built into my router. You may have some security setting enabled that is affecting your getting into the site. Do you have any problems getting into any other sites which require a login?

Try this,
Log off from this website.
Delete the cookie on your computer that is for this website.
Log back in.
That should fix it.
This -resets- your settings for this website.
The problem lies in your computer, not this site because if it was this site, everyone using the same browser, would be having the same problem. That's just the way computers work. ;)
Q) How do you know when there is a job opening at the post office?
A) The flag is at half mast.

For those new members who can't post read the message that pops up.
The reason you cannot post.
1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. You might have yet to verify you email address. A link would have been sent from YMF to activate your account. If you did not do this, or deleted the mail, please PM an admin to help you out. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
All you have to do is PM me. :)
99.9% of the problems have to deal with your individual PC's, not the forum. If it was the forum, then believe me, we would know about it with over 1000 emails.

I cant take this shit any more. I hear the same thing every time. its not the site its your computer. well I have go through all of it that I can think of from my security, to Internet options, and even java and my browser. and nothing helps, now its worse I cant even get to my profile when I click on my name. it just sends me back to the log in page, and then I cant get back in. now I know is not what Ive done. my computer has been the same since 2005 and when I started on this forum it was fine, then someone changed it or messed with it a while back and I started having problems. now its been changed one more time and it just gets worse for me. I cant figure it out. it took me fifteen mins to get to this post. so I'm done with this site until I can find the prob, I will still be online because the whole Internet works just fine except this site on this computer.

Sorry about your frustrations Cole.
But I submit, that if all possible truths have been exhausted, except one, then the one remaining possible truth, despite how implausible, must be the truth.
Seriously though, between Windoze, cookies, often times competing virus software and other programs trying to "own" your computer, it really is most likely your computer, otherwise everyone else would be having the problems.
Can you borrow a computer (friend, library, FedEx/Kinko's etc) and see about logging in and see if then you are still having the same problems????
Lately I had a ton of problems with my stores computers and logging into our POS software. It ended up being more than one virus/malware/phishing/optimizing programs on the computer and one not allowing the other to work properly, leading to neither actually doing the job they intended correctly and really messing with other program operations.
Again, try another computer or two. I would be interested in hearing how this works out for you.
As a side note Vista is a real PITA, particularly with over-controlling security that fights you all the time and not allowing you the control over your own computer. Truly a OS that demonstrates that the solution is probably worse than the problem.
Also as a general computer ops note... Has your computer been cleaned up? Has your disks been optimized/defragmented? Have you removed all your trash? Do you have more than 15% of your hard disk space still left empty? Windoze begins to become highly unstable once your disk free space is less than 20%. Regardless of the disk size.
Again I can't state this enough, cookies are your friend or a nice thorn in your side.
Is your surfing software current and up to date?
Are you using default/factory security settings?
Have you tried optimizing your computer. Windows One Live is a 90 day freebie that reviews your computer, settings, disk optimization, trash control, virus control and online settings. I am not a MS pimp by any stretch of the imagination but I use it after killing off several other programs attempting to do the same but each had one or more competing "operations".
All in trying to help.

well for some reason I logged on and for the first time it sent me right to(My profile) and its been working good so far and I have done nothing. a few days ago when I came on, in no way shape of form could I get on to my profile. I tried about five different ways and all it would do is send me back to the log in page. and now I don't know why its working but Im happy. Im not sure if the refresh after every page deal has been fixed but I will find out now.
