I registered and was asked by the admin to stop by and introduce myself. I'm on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. My first bike was a Sears 106 back in 1969. Since then I i've owned Honda's, Hodaka's, Harley's, Kawi's and even some european stuff like Triumph and Norton. But I ain't never owne me a Yamaha. I guess it is about time to give one a try.
I used to think metric cruisers were for those who couldn't buy a Harley. Then in 2005 I bought a VTX1300 and that changed my mind. Hurricane Katrina took the VTX and I rode an old Electra Glide for a while but now I want an 09 Road Star.
I prefer a blacked out bike over one with a lot of chrome because I don't like polishing chrome. I like true dual bagger style exhaust and I typically set up my bikes solo. On the very rare occasion that my wife wants to ride it is pretty easy to put on a pillion seat. I generally put a lot of miles on my bikes. I had the VTX for four months and it had 7000+ on it when it went underwater.
Well, that's my intro. I'll be asking a lot questions but don't look for me to provide many answers until I have enough miles under me to feel like I can do so with some measure of authority.
